Jon Canfield's Baseball Related Cigarette and Tobacco Packs

Issued in 1888, this set was the second set of “World Champions” cards that were issued by Allen & Ginter. The cards feature a picture of the 1888 N29 card surrounded by a colored background scene. There are 50 cards in the set, of which 6 are baseball players. These cards were packaged inside “The Richmond Straight Cut” 20 count cigarette boxes. This tobacco box is highly desired despite being only moderately rare. Correct boxes will not contain "successor" language on the bottom front of the box.
